Desert Theatricals invites audiences to step into the smoky world of 1920s Berlin, with its captivating production of Cabaret at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater. Set inside a vibrant Berlin nightclub as the 1920s draw to a close, the show opens with the flamboyant Master of Ceremonies welcoming guests to the Kit Kat Club, promising an evening where worries can be left at the door and the music never stops.
Cabaret captures the vibrant yet uneasy atmosphere of Berlin on the brink of change through the Emcee’s provocative songs and commentary. The story follows American writer Cliff Bradshaw and English performer Sally Bowles, while their landlady, Fräulein Schneider, begins a tentative romance with Herr Schultz, a gentle Jewish fruit seller, as political tensions rise around them.
Featuring unforgettable songs such as “Willkommen,” “Cabaret,” “Don’t Tell Mama,” and “Two Ladies,” the musical blends dazzling entertainment with powerful storytelling that reflects both the glamour and the fragility of the era.
Guests can enhance their evening with an optional dinner- theatre experience catered by the renowned Wally’s Desert Turtle, now returning as the official caterer for Desert Theatricals productions. Dinner theatre seating includes a three-course, waiter-served meal enjoyed at a reserved table beneath the evening sky. Tables seat a minimum of four and a maximum of seven guests.
April 17 – 19, 2026. Gates open for dinner theatre at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:15 p.m. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (760) 620-5993.
General admission seating is also available, with food and beverages for purchase at the amphitheater, also provided by Wally’s Desert Turtle. Chairs are provided, and outside food or beverages are not permitted.
Plenty of parking is available thanks to the new parking lot located directly across from the amphitheater and complimentary valet parking is available at the west gate entrance.
