Read with Me Volunteer Programs Upcoming Fundraising Events and Volunteer Opportunities

It’s all about literacy and how it can change lives for the better. Young people lacking the fundamentals of reading (and comprehending what they read) are most likely to drop out of school and enter a life that has no prospects, and no future.

Read with Me Volunteers, a local nonprofit organization, has successfully elevated the reading, comprehension, and speaking skills of thousands of children from low- income and limited English-speaking families for more than twenty years.

Please join Read With Me Volunteer Programs on October 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Mary Pickford Theatre for a fundraiser to view the powerful documentary film “Sentenced”, which raises awareness about the benefits of literacy, and how literacy opens doors to opportunity (as well as how the lack of it can close them forever). The film is narrated by NBA All-Star Stephen Curry. Each ticket entitles one to a viewing of the documentary, a beverage, and lite bites.

Attention Barry Manilow fans! December 16-21, 2025, at the McCallum Theatre, enjoy this legendary performer, and, at the same time, support the Read With Me Volunteer Programs nonprofit by purchasing tickets!

For more information on how to obtain tickets to both the “Sentenced” film, and the Barry Manilow concert, and to learn more about Read With Me Volunteer Programs’ rewarding volunteer opportunities, call (760) 567-1830 or visit readwithmevolunteers.com.
