When children first enter a hangar at the Palm Springs Air Museum, there is an audible “gasp” of joy and wonder! The aircraft are not cordoned off. Visitors, students, parents, and teachers can get up close and personal. Students get lessons in elements of flight, geography, navigation, and history. They hear first-hand about aviation jobs available if
they stay in school. Classes meet retired pilots, engineers, mechanics, and navigators. Math and science are no longer abstract concepts. Real connections are made on how math
and science are needed for navigation and to understand why planes can fly.
But we are maxed out! By mid-September school tours are totally booked through June. We must EXPAND the Palm Springs Air Museum’s educational facilities and programs to serve all the schools and parents on our waiting list. And YOU can help!

The non-profit Palm Springs Air Museum is committed to supporting area students on a pilot career path via these NEW programs: First Flight™ intro in a Cessna 182, Young Science Professionals’ Scholarship Fund and Women In Aviation documentary and study guide are part of our educational programs.
