They co-produced and co-directed the feature-length documentary “Something To Entertain You” about local artists Karen and Tony Barone. The Rancho Mirage Cultural Commission will be presenting a free screening of the film December 2nd at 7pm at the Rancho Mirage Library. Mary is a James Beard Award and Emmy Award-winning television producer and respected wine journalist whose career began at CNN, where she produced travel, food, and wine stories. She later created and executive produced the acclaimed NBC series In Wine Country, producing numerous documentary-style features celebrating people, places, and culture. Today, she continues sharing her passion for food and wine as co-host of the Sip Sip Hooray! podcast and as a writer for Edible East Bay.
Jon’s distinguished career spans some of the most influential names in journalism and technology. During his 14 years at CNN, he served as an executive producer for numerous news programs before helping pioneer online video as co- founder of Yahoo’s FinanceVision live-streaming network and later founding Yahoo! Studios. He also served as Director of Production and Executive Producer for TechCrunch TV, authored articles for Streaming Media and TechCrunch, and has moderated industry panels focused on the future of digital broadcasting.
