Before moving to Sun City Shadow Hills, Celestino Cornielle spent many years working as a professional actor in film and television.
Like many people, he had built a full life: career, identity, and momentum.
In 2017, he made his big-screen debut in The Fate of the Furious, the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise. Audiences were introduced to Raldo “El Sabroso,” a Havana kingpin brought to life with charisma and precision. This role opened doors and introduced Celestino’s work to a global audience.
He continued building his career with a memorable portrayal of DEA Special Agent Charlie Hovan on Amazon’s Bosch, playing an undercover operative navigating complex moral terrain. Celestino appreciates a story well told and truly shows how dedicated he is to his craft in this role.
Over the years, his credits grew to include a wide range of projects, including Too Old to Die Young, Mayans M.C., Queen of the South, Major Crimes, and appearances on NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: Miami, The Mentalist, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Each role added another chapter to a career he approached with gratitude and quiet discipline.

Amid the uncertainty of the pandemic, Celestino experienced a personal shift. He stepped away, not from work, but from noise. From the constant pace and pressure that had long defined his world. What followed was not a retreat, but a reset.
He embraced a nomadic, off-grid van lifestyle, waking each day to new landscapes and long stretches of reflection. It was a time that allowed him to reconnect—with himself, with purpose, and with a simpler way of living grounded in presence and perspective.
By 2024, that journey led him somewhere unexpected.
Celestino found himself drawn to the desert and to a home in Sun City Shadow Hills, on a street called Calle Celestino. A sign that felt too precise to ignore.
He and his wife chose to make Sun City Shadow Hills their home. Almost immediately, it felt right.
Not as an escape but as a place to belong.
Here, life took on a different rhythm. Neighbors became friends. Conversations felt genuine. There was a shared appreciation for the stage of life everyone was in, one centered less on striving, and more on connection, presence, and enjoying each day.
“It’s a special place,” Celestino shares. “There’s a kindness here, a sense of community that you don’t always find. People look out for each other. It reminds you what really matters.”
That same year, he was cast in Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, a project surrounding Muhammad Ali’s iconic 1970 fight. Working alongside a celebrated ensemble cast, he portrayed Javi Lopez, drawing inspiration from Dominican musician Johnny Pacheco. He also returned to his role as Charlie Hovan in Bosch: Legacy, bringing with him a deeper sense of perspective shaped by his time away.
Today, Celestino’s focus has shifted.
Rather than chasing what’s next, he is more interested in telling stories that feel honest and meaningful—projects rooted in purpose, connection, and human experience. He is currently in post-production on his first film and developing a documentary exploring personal growth, identity, and the transitions that come with different chapters of life.
But, just as important as the work itself is where he gets to return at the end of the day.
In Sun City Shadow Hills, he has found more than a place to live. He has found a community that reflects the values he spent years rediscovering: presence, connection, and a genuine appreciation for life as it is now.
Because at some point, for many, the question is no longer “What’s next?” It becomes, “What now… and who am I without everything I’ve built?”
