Karen and Tony Barone
Karen and her husand Tony Barone are a celebrated artistic duo known for their monumental sculptures, vibrant paintings, and whimsical larger-than-life creations displayed throughout the Palm Springs Valley and beyond. Born in Chicago, where they met and began their creative partnership, the Barones later became recognized as Soho pioneers in New York City before continuing their artistic journey through Tennessee, Venice Beach, and ultimately Rancho Mirage, California. Since settling in the Coachella Valley in the early 2000s, their imaginative public art installations have transformed the desert landscape with an “Alice-in-Wonderland” sense of wonder and adventure. Their work reflects sharp wit, bold vision, and a belief in art as a force for human connection and enrichment. In addition to their visual art, Karen and Tony continue to engage audiences through film, including a second screening of their film Something To Entertain You through AMdocs during XOXO in Palm Springs on Friday, June 19 at 6 PM on the 70-foot screen at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
