In a world filled with social media posts and screens that compete for our attention, The Sun City Insider magazine has taken a step back to reflect on what the word “community” truly means. To us, community is far more than an area, a property line, or any boundary; it’s about the relationships, shared stories, and connections that bring people together.
In that spirit, our small but dedicated magazine aims to elevate the voices of all three Del Webb communities, helping residents appreciate the importance of genuine connection. Over the years, every feature story has brought neighbors closer and showcased the incredible people who make the Del Webb communities so remarkable.
Since 2017, The Sun City Insider has been more than just a magazine; it has served as a bridge between neighbors and local businesses. Founded and produced by the Jelmberg family Penny, Gil, Josh, and Christian. The publication began with a simple yet powerful mission: to build a genuine sense of belonging across the Del Webb neighborhoods, celebrate residents’ achievements, and highlight the vibrant lifestyle that defines these communities.
That founding sentiment continues to ground The Sun City Insider in its mission of connection and community.
The magazine turned a new page with the addition of Patrick Klein, who joined the publication in 2020. Originally from Australia, Patrick brings more than four decades of experience across newspapers, trade publications, and media projects involving major league sports such as the NFL, NBA, NHL, and professional tennis. His unmatched expertise and world of production experience now find their perfect balance in serving the local community he proudly calls home.
Shortly after, Stephanie “Will” Wilson joined the publication as a writer in 2020 and advanced to Editor and Production Manager in 2023. Her career began in television journalism, where she worked as both a host and reporter before the pandemic shifted her professional path. When the opportunity arose to contribute her storytelling skills to The Sun City Insider, she embraced it. What began as remote interviews over phone and video, soon transitioned into in-person conversations, allowing her to capture authentic stories that reflect the vibrant spirit of each Del Webb community, and to connect neighbors and local businesses in meaningful ways.
Together with Executive Editor Dustin Biagioni, the team continues to expand its community-focused content, shining a light on the people who make Sun City Palm Desert, Sun City Shadow Hills, and Del Webb Rancho Mirage so extraordinary.
