Furthermore, it’s essential to note the upcoming Open Enrollment Period (OEP) in the first quarter of 2024. If you are presently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan (MA), here are key points to consider:
- The Medicare Advantage OEP spans from January 1st to March 31st each year.
- Individuals on a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan or a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan can make one final adjustment during this period.
- The effective date for a Medicare Advantage OEP election is the first day of the following month upon receipt of the enrollment request.
- Notably, this enrollment window does not apply to individuals enrolled in a Medicare Supplemental plan or a stand-alone Prescription Drug (PDP) plan, nor those solely on Original Medicare.
