Poodle Rescue Mission

A dedicated group of poodle enthusiasts has united to establish the Standard Poodle Club and Rescue of the Desert and Greater Palm Springs. Their noble mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Standard Poodles facing abandonment, mistreatment, surrender, or requiring medical attention. Beyond being a sanctuary for these majestic dogs, the organization aims to cultivate a sense of community among Standard Poodle enthusiasts.

The club’s signature Promenade walks on El Paseo occur about six times a year and bring together poodle lovers from the Valley and beyond. Supporting local businesses and gaining exposure for their club are just two of their goals on these special days. The inaugural walk of the season was held on November 11, 2023, at 8:30 am and began in front of Kitchen 86. Upwards of 75 Standard Poodles participated, including canines and their owners from other countries. Everyone had a great time, from the “meet and greet” until breakfast at the end.

Ensuring the well-being of rescued poodles is a commitment that comes at a financial cost, and the Standard Poodle Club depends on the generosity of its donors to sustain its crucial work. Although adoption fees play a part in covering expenses, additional funds are indispensable, especially for extensive veterinary services and grooming. The unwavering dedication of the club’s supporters guarantees that these rescued dogs receive the necessary medical attention and are placed in secure, affectionate environments. Beyond their primary mission, the club actively champions sister non-profits like Animal Samaritans and Loving All Animals.

The Standard Poodle Club and Rescue of the Desert and Greater Palm Springs is a living testament to the transformative power of shared passion and compassion. What began as leisurely walks has evolved into life-saving missions, establishing the organization as a pillar of support for Standard Poodles in need. This heartening journey underscores the profound impact that a community of dog lovers can have on the lives of our beloved four-legged companions. From the picturesque walks along El Paseo to the critical rescue missions, this organization continues to embody the spirit of care and camaraderie that defines the bond between humans and canines.
