2025 has ushered in many changes to Medicare and it is important to be informed how these changes might affect you and/or your spouse.
One of the most significant changes is the reduction in your out-of-pocket maximum (MOOP) for Part D (prescription drug plan). The Donut Hole was eliminated in 2025 and the MOOP has been reduced to just $2,000 per individual per year. These are significant savings for those previously responsible for more than $8,000 before the catastrophic coverage began.
Additionally, if you know your prescriptions will be more than $2,000 for the year, you may set up a payment plan averaging the $2,000 cost over the 12-month term. You can join at any time and the monthly payment will be adjusted for the remaining months in the year.
Due to this significant reduction, some carriers have made changes to their formulary. As an Agent I spent many hours with my clients reviewing these 2025 changes and assisting them in making the best possible choice for their 2025 Part D plan. As a local Agent I would love to become your Medicare Agent.
