Coachella Valley Water District offers a series of videos where experts talk about what you can do to conserve water around your house and garden. The six free videos range from 3 to 5 minutes in length. To watch the mini movies, go to CVWD.org/Conservation and click on “Ask CVWD Video Series.”

How to Check for Indoor Leaks: Examine washing machine and water heater supply lines, look for leaks in kitchen and bathroom faucets, sinks, showerheads, and toilets.
How to Reduce Outdoor Water Waste: Check your irrigation system for faulty parts and make sure your swimming pool’s automatic fill valve is not broken or stuck.
How to Read Your Meter: Learn how to check the main functions on your meter including the flow indicator and register.
How to Program Your Smart Controller: Learn how to set various functions such as run times, start times, watering days, and solar synchronization.
How to Increase your Water Savings: Check the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room. Replace older appliances and plumbing with those that use less water and electricity. Install faucet aerators and low-flow showerheads.
How to Apply for Rebates CVWD residential, commercial, and HOA customers can apply for rebates when they take steps to save water indoors and outdoors. Rebates are available for high-efficiency toilets and washing machines, home water monitors, hot water recirculating pumps, rotary nozzles, smart irrigation controllers, turf conversions, and water pumps. In addition, eligible homeowners can apply for a free indoor water conservation kit.
