Rancho Mirage Chamber Launches Artificial Intelligence Speaker Series

Rancho Mirage Kicked Off Signature Speaker Series with a Focus on the Future: Artificial Intelligence

It all kickstarted in April—Rancho Mirage took a bold step into the future by launching its Signature Speaker Series with a timely, thought-provoking luncheon centered around one of the most important forces shaping our world today: Artificial Intelligence (AI). The first of the series was hosted on April 16th at the Mission Hills Country Club, the event brought together top minds in technology, marketing, and civic leadership to explore the implications of AI for local businesses, nonprofits, and the greater community.

Headlining the event was Jordan Crenshaw, Senior Vice President at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC), alongside Andrew McCauley of “Visit Greater Palm Springs” and “Flashlight Marketing”. Together, they provided a powerful look into how AI is reshaping everything from business operations and consumer behavior, to privacy policy and social impact.

Crenshaw, a national voice on technology policy and privacy legislation, shared critical insights from the front lines of Washington, D.C., where the future of AI is being shaped through legislation, collaboration, and innovation. His message was clear: “The future is intelligent, and understanding AI is no longer optional.” Whether we embrace it or not, AI is already here—evolving at a rapid pace and touching every sector imaginable.

“Launching our Signature Speaker Series with such a relevant and powerful topic was intentional,” said Katie Slimko-Stice, CEO of the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce. “We want our community to be ahead of the curve—not just responding to change, but leading it.”

The AI-themed luncheon explored both the opportunities and the challenges ahead. From small businesses looking to streamline operations with AI tools, to nonprofits interested in using predictive technology for resource distribution or crisis response, the event highlighted the versatility of AI as a tool for empowerment. Discussions also addressed the deeper ethical questions: How do we use AI responsibly? How do we protect privacy while embracing progress?

Perhaps most importantly, the event marked the beginning of an ongoing conversation—one that recognizes AI not just as a technological trend, but as a transformative force that demands education, collaboration, and leadership.

The speaker series is a launchpad. A call to action. A moment where Rancho Mirage said, “Let’s be part of the future.” And this is only the beginning. The Signature Speaker Series will continue to spotlight issues that matter most to our region, with AI being just the first of many dynamic topics designed to inform, inspire, and innovate.

For local leaders, entrepreneurs, and engaged residents, this was a glimpse into what’s possible when business, government, and technology converge for the greater good.
