At OLLI, there are no exams or grades and reading is always optional. We invite you to delve into subjects you may have been interested in for years but simply didn’t have time to study.
OLLI at CSUSB Palm Desert campus on Cook Street offers 1-Week, 3-Week and 6-Week courses that will stimulate your mind, body and soul. Annual memberships are $75 and give you access to free speaker events as well as fairly priced courses and fun, educational travel! Stay Curious! As we look forward to starting a new year, so many of us make resolutions to “get in shape” or “lose a few pounds”. How about making a resolution to renew your mind as well? This is a perfect time to register for an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) course. Our Winter semester begins soon. With such a diverse selection, there is something you would like to learn more about.
If you are ready to explore new ideas and have fresh experiences join us at the CSUSB campus on Cook Street in Palm Desert. For those who prefer learning on the go, we offer distance learning opportunities as well as recorded courses for viewing at your convenience.
Our Winter semester starts on January 17th featuring 1-week classes with intriguing topics such as Life on the E-Ring of the Pentagon, or an exploration of the most beautiful love poem ever written. Our 6-week (once a week) course schedule begins January 30th and has an exceptional variety of classes such as; Hemingway’s Women, the life and art of Bob Dylan, The Geopolitics of Oil, or learn about how the Supreme Court makes decisions and understand the Federal Reserve system.
If you enjoy film we have two film series scheduled, Force Mejuer, disaster films or a series of international films screened in our comfortable campus auditorium. 3-week courses begin March 13th with subjects such as China on the Margins, A History of Ukraine and Russia an Introduction to Enneagran, and The Tao de Ching Lao Tsu, as well as an exploration of music from the 60s.
