Have you noticed that many of our neighbors seem to have taken a step back recently? Sadly, this has become a national concern. Many local institutions serving the senior community have reported a decline in participation. Social isolation heavily impacted our community’s senior population and caused depression,
anxiety and loneliness.
A recent Cal State University San Bernardino faculty research panel shared how programs like the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on the Palm Desert campus can provide both social engagement opportunities and the mental stimulation needed to restore the wellbeing of those most impacted by the COVID lockdowns.
Our upcoming 3-week session offers classes both on campus and online that are thought provoking and engaging. History is always a popular topic; beginning March 13th we have four classes to select from including the History of the Coachella Valley and the History of the Ukraine Russia conflict. Classes in music, art, the Tao and great chefs of the desert will appeal to the soul.
