Now Starring in her own Reality TV Show “The Life Coach for Dogs (and their Humans)” here in the desert!
Mara Brown has a super power… she “speaks dog”. Not exactly like Dr. Doolittle, but she speaks the language of dogs and then teaches that language to the dog’s humans, to help people understand their dogs better. This creates happiness, balance, and harmony in the home, resulting in people having a better relationship with their dogs and a more fulfilling life for themselves and their dogs.
Mara Brown is a Master Dog Behaviorist and her business is Life Coaching for Dogs (and their Humans.) Mara goes into people’s homes and works with dogs of all ages to stop all problem behaviors and she explains why your dog is doing that thing that drives you crazy. (Spoiler alert – it is never what people think.)
Mara works with you and your dog(s) to communicate your dog’s needs, fears, and wants, to you in a way that is easy to understand. Mara works with dogs as young at 8 weeks old, through their transition and every age in between. (And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks – human and canine!)
Now, Mara is starring in her own reality television show called, The Life Coach for Dogs (and their Humans) airing Fridays at 1pm on FOX 11. The show debuted this past fall and will run through April 2025. This fun and informative half hour show follows Mara as she goes into people’s homes, sees the dog’s problem behaviors, then explains why the dogs have such upsetting behaviors. She teaches people how to “speak dog” by teaching them her unique dog behavior model. Then she fixes problem behaviors, (and teaches the humans something about themselves in the process.)
Mara does her coaching sessions with humor, love, insight, and lots of heart, focusing on the human/dog connection for lasting transformation. The end of each episode features a dog in need of a home from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter and teaches an additional tip relating to that week’s issue. Mara came to the desert about 4 years ago after living in Los Angeles and Newport Beach. Before being a successful Dog Coach, Mara Brown was a very successful Life and Executive Coach (see www.MaraBrown.com to learn more about her 4 books, Television Talk Show, Radio show and People Coaching). She has also worked in the corporate world in Marketing and Advertising after graduating with her MBA and BA in Psychology.
But animals have always been her first love. Mara realized early on in life that she has a special affinity with animals. She has worked with cats, horses, dolphins, wolves, goats, deer, a tiger, and a Black Momba snake! But her “sweet spot”, her true love, is dogs. Mara uses her knowledge of human behavior and her lifelong study of animal behavior in her very successful Dog Coaching business. She has success where others have failed because she combines her expertise of human and animal behavior and factors in the interplay between the two for long lasting, meaningful change.

Mara has a special intuitive way with dogs. They really respond to her. And she makes training fun for the dogs and their humans. Not only does she “fix” the dogs, and have success where often many other trainers have failed, she teaches the dog’s humans how to understand and relate to their dogs better, resulting in better behaved dogs, happier humans, and harmonious households. She is training the humans as much as she trains the dogs. It really is in the interaction between the dog and their humans that creates long lasting, amazing results and transformations.

Mara Brown also co-founded a Dog Adoption Program with The Westin Hotel in Rancho Mirage and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, that has resulted in over 70 dog adoptions.
