Leslie Greif is a producer, writer and director of multi-Emmy Award and Golden Globe winning productions. Amongst his many television and motion picture productions, he is responsible for three television tentpoles: Walker Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris, The Hatfields and the McCoys starring Kevin Costner, and KISS’S Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Leslie has followed in his father, George Greif’s, footsteps. George’s career crossed paths with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Barry White, The Crusaders, Jose Feliciano. George Harrison’s “Crackerbox Palace” was written about George’s life. Mr. Greif was recently inducted into the Personal Manager’s Hall of fame.
Leslie and his family have been fortunate to live in Sun City Palm Desert for many years. Leslie first saw their home in 2003, when its very private lot with the community’s best view of the city prompted him to encourage his parents to buy it for their retirement home. Leslie’s family is downsizing so the Sun City Palm Desert home is now for sale.
With the assistance of his sisters, Dr. Diane Sheppard, Laura and brother-in-law, Etienne Decludt, interior designer, the family recently completed extensive renovations.
The house is a perfect choice for a family that loves to entertain, has pets and enjoys gatherings with friends and family. This home could be considered one of the only custom houses in the Sun City Development. It is designed from the inspiration and fond memories of growing up with George and his famous Hollywood parties.
Included is a chef’s kitchen and sunken bar, designed as an homage to Roger Verge, Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck, all of whom spent many years cooking with George. The sunken bar brings back memories of Keith Richards, Ringo Star, Tina Turner and Jimmy Buffet nursing Calvados into the wee hours.
Two master suites with spa-like bathrooms, a gym and a fullsize, separate entry casita with a game room and bedroom add to the uniqueness of the property. The spectacular, expansive backyard includes: A zen garden, separate pool/jacuzzi, firepit, barbeque and dining areas. The privacy is unmatched. The home has wide open views and sits in front of a glorious Southern mountain landscape overlooking the golf course, yet it is tucked away in a cozy corner far from the golf paths, golfers and peering eyes.
This home has been Leslie’s personal haven for creativity and inspiration. It is filled with positive energy. Leslie’s next project is a scripted mini-series called “The Offer”, based on the battles in the making of “The Godfather”, between the Mafia’s Joe Colombo, Paramount’s Bob Evans and Oscar Winning producer, Albert S. Ruddy. Leslie spent many days writing the scripts at this
house, poolside under a shady umbrella, sipping a frosty cocktail
with a cigar.
Leslie, Diane and Laura cannot wait to share the magic of this home. They are confident that whoever moves in will be destined to have many years of happiness and enjoyment.
