Gregory Goodman, candidate for Rancho Mirage City Council, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, into a small Jewish family with three sisters and his parents. His entrepreneurial journey began early, inspired by his hardworking father, who owned a store attached to their family home in Ashland, Ohio. The family later moved to Mansfield, Ohio, where his father purchased a flower shop.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Gregory opened his own store in Mansfield and later expanded to three additional locations in Columbus, Ohio. His business acumen and passion for floral design led him to sell his Ohio-based stores and move to Los Angeles, California.
Gregory established a small flower shop in Beverly Hills that quickly gained recognition for its exquisite arrangements. His talent caught the attention of Hollywood’s elite, leading to prestigious opportunities such as designing for three Academy Award and two Golden Globe Award ceremonies. His client list boasted numerous talented actors and singers, including the legendary Aretha Franklin and Elizabeth Taylor, among many others. Gregory’s success in Beverly Hills led to another shop in Los Feliz. Professionally and personally things were going well as Gregory married his lifetime partner Alan Kelly in 2008.
In 2011, Gregory moved to Palm Springs and opened his boutique flower shop, beginning his deep involvement in the local community. His commitment to giving back is evident in his donations to over a hundred different charities. Gregory has made significant contributions to the American Cancer Society and due to his particular fondness for animals he is actively involved in fundraising efforts for animal causes.
Gregory Goodman’s life philosophy centers on giving back to others. His campaign slogan, “The Good Man for Rancho Mirage,” reflects his name, his dedication to community service, and his vision for positive change in Rancho Mirage. With his diverse business experience and commitment to philanthropy, Gregory Goodman seeks to bring his unique perspective and community-focused approach to the Rancho Mirage City Council.
