Debra Fink: Home Sweet Home

From Fashion to Furnishings: Debra’s Journey of Creativity through WDC

Debra Fink’s life has always been steeped in design. From the early days of her career as a fashion buyer turned designer, she embraced her passion for beautiful things. Traveling from coast to coast and exploring foreign countries, Debra immersed herself in the world of fashion, shaping her eye for style and elegance. However, in 2005, her journey took a pivotal turn.

Leaving behind the fast-paced life of Los Angeles, Debra moved to the Coachella Valley, settling in La Quinta, a choice she now considers one of her best decisions. “It was the best move I ever made,” Debra reflects. This transition marked her departure from fashion and led her into the realm of luxury brand home furnishings. She initially sold  high-end  window  treatments, and after nine successful years, advanced to luxury furnishings at Ethan Allen. Her expertise and vision led her to spearhead the opening of Ethan Allen’s flagship store in Rancho Mirage, a defining milestone in her career.

Despite her success, Debra felt it was time for a new challenge. When WDC Kitchen & Bath Center began the process of opening its flagship store in La Quinta, she took the leap, even though appliances were an unfamiliar territory. “I knew nothing about appliances, but I have a passion for cooking and entertaining, so I decided a career move would be a fun challenge,” Debra shares with a smile. That leap of faith led to what she now calls her dream job.

As a sales professional at WDC, Debra works with interior designers, builders, contractors, and homeowners, helping them craft their ideal kitchens. “Every day is an opportunity to help someone create the kitchen of their dreams,” she beams. WDC’s stunning 45,000-square-foot showroom leaves clients in awe, and Debra’s enthusiasm is palpable. “When you come to our gorgeous showroom, you can’t help but be ‘wowed’—and you understand why I love my job so much.”

What makes her role at WDC so fulfilling is not just the beauty of the surroundings, but the sense of family within the business. WDC has been a trusted name in the kitchen and bath industry for over four decades, and that stability is something Debra values. “Job security is critical at this point in my life,” she notes. Extensive training that included hands-on cooking experiences with vendors has also set WDC apart, giving their team a competitive edge in expertise that other dealers can only imagine.

Amid career changes, Debra’s personal life found balance in her new home at Sun City Shadow Hills (SCSH). “From day one, I was home,” she says, describing the tranquility and friendliness of the community. Her dog Lola shares her happiness, and together, they enjoy the peaceful environment. Debra has discovered that many of her friends from Los Angeles now live in SCSH, and she’s even encountered several customers there. “I won’t be going anywhere else any time soon—SCSH is home for me and Lola.”

Debra Fink’s journey is a testament to her passion, adaptability, and commitment to creating beauty in every space she touches. Whether designing high fashion or helping homeowners build their dream kitchens, Debra’s dedication shines, making both her work at WDC and her life in Sun City Shadow Hills truly fulfilling.

Debra warmly invites her fellow neighbors at Sun City Shadow Hills and the surrounding areas to visit WDC Kitchen & Bath Center and explore all the possibilities for transforming their homes. “Whether you’re dreaming of a stunning new kitchen or updating your appliances, we’re here to help make your vision a reality,” she says.
