Happy New Year, 2026! We’re excited to turn the page into a new chapter, and are just as delighted to welcome our front cover feature, Lynn Mallotto, who was recently sworn in as the new Mayor of Rancho Mirage. Read her story on pages 16 and 18.
While the new year inspires us to look ahead, it is also a time for reflection. We are living through a remarkable moment in human history. Nearly six centuries ago, Gutenberg’s printing press transformed civilization, sending the written word far and wide. For the first time, information could be shared broadly, communities expanded, and ideas reshaped the world. Today, we’re experiencing a communication revolution just as profound. Devices and digital platforms continue to redefine how information is transmitted, how we interact, and how our communities stay connected.
The printed page isn’t disappearing, but the world is changing rapidly around us. In that reality, I want to pause and appreciate something meaningful: the fact that you are here, reading these printed words. Through the Rancho Mirage Insider magazine, we are connected. This publication exists because of our readers and because local advertisers believe local stories deserve to be told and that community connections matter. Together, we stand in a unique moment in history: one foot in the enduring past and one stepping into an ever-evolving future.
I hope you enjoy these pages and discover great dining, exciting events, and plenty of community spirit.
Regards and Happy Reading!
