At Cake4Kids we bake and deliver birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies and brownies to foster children and at-risk youth – and all of the baking and decorating is done by volunteers! We raise kids’ self-esteem with this simple gift on their special day. Cake4Kids supports at-risk youth in the communities we serve, including homeless youth, victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, those in foster care, youth living below the poverty line, refugees and unaccompanied immigrant minors.
Cake4Kids was founded in 2010 by Libby Gruender in the San Francisco Bay area. Her grassroots effort with a few volunteers baking 13 cakes for a few agencies has evolved into a robust operation with hundreds of volunteers currently baking over 3,000 cakes per year for over 140 agencies nationwide! There are presently 21 chapters throughout the country and we are thrilled to now be opening one in
the Coachella Valley.
If you like to bake and decorate cakes, Cake4Kids is perfect for you. Bake one cake or ten cakes a year…it’s up to you. You choose which child’s request to sign up for, then bake and decorate in your own kitchen and when complete, you deliver the treats to the local social services agency that requested them. It’s fun, rewarding and truly the “sweetest” volunteer opportunity you can participate in!
