Kenneth Churchill – The Firm

In the Coachella Valley, many business owners quietly carry decades of hard work behind their storefronts, offices, restaurants, and service companies. Their businesses are often far more than income sources. They represent family sacrifices, sleepless nights, calculated risks, and years spent building something meaningful within the community they call home. So when the time finally comes to step away, whether through retirement, a new opportunity, or a long-awaited life transition, the decision is rarely just about numbers on paper.

That understanding is what makes Rancho Mirage resident Kenneth Churchill’s approach feel different.

Today, Kenneth works with The Firm Companies and Keller Williams Coachella Valley as a business broker and commercial real estate professional, helping local business owners, buyers, and investors navigate some of the most important decisions of their lives. Yet his perspective was not built from textbooks or theory. It was earned firsthand through years spent building businesses himself right here in the desert.

As Cofounder and CEO of West Coast Cannabis Club, Kenneth helped establish and grow a vertically integrated operation with multiple locations throughout the Coachella Valley, navigating the challenges of one of the country’s most highly regulated industries. The experience brought national attention, with recognition from publications including Forbes, Rolling Stone, and BBC, while also earning local honors such as Business of the Year from the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce and Best Place to Work from The Desert Sun.

But beyond the headlines and accolades, Kenneth gained something even more valuable: a deep understanding of what business ownership truly demands.

“There’s a very personal side to selling a business that often gets overlooked,” Kenneth explains. “For many owners, their business represents years of their life. It’s tied to their identity, their family, and their future. You have to understand that before you can properly help someone through the process.”

After selling his own businesses, Kenneth recognized a gap in the local marketplace.  Many owners searching for guidance were finding professionals who understood contracts and transactions, but not necessarily the emotional and operational realities of running a company day in and day out.

“The Coachella Valley really needs someone who understands a business from the inside out,” he says. “Valuations are tricky, and knowing the inner workings of how to run a business gives you an advantage that most brokers simply don’t have.”

That operational insight has become the foundation of his work today. Kenneth frequently works with longtime desert business owners approaching retirement, entrepreneurs looking to reposition themselves for a new chapter, and investors searching for opportunities that align with the valley’s evolving growth. Rather than treating each transaction as a simple deal to close, he approaches every conversation with the perspective of someone who has personally experienced both the pressure and the pride that come with ownership.

Equally important to Kenneth is his connection to the community itself.

Beyond his professional work, he serves on the board of Friends of the Children – Coachella Valley, an organization dedicated to breaking cycles of generational poverty through long-term mentorship for vulnerable youth. He also serves on the board of the Coachella Valley History Museum, helping preserve and celebrate the stories that continue to shape the desert’s identity and future.

For Kenneth, business and community have always gone hand in hand.

“The Coachella Valley has given me incredible opportunities,” he says. “I believe part of success is finding ways to reinvest your time and energy back into the place that helped shape you.”

In a region where so many businesses are family-built, community-supported, and deeply personal, Kenneth Churchill brings a perspective that resonates with people navigating major life transitions.  Not simply because he understands the mechanics of buying and selling businesses, but because he understands the journey behind them. In a community built on relationships, that experience matters.
