Kimberly Aspiranti Finding Her Spotlight in Sun City

From karaoke nights and pageants, to theater, film, and lasting friend- ships within the Sun City community, Kimberly is rediscovering her passion for the Performing Arts; proving that confidence, creativity, and connection can grow even stronger with every chapter of life.

For Sun City resident Kimberly Aspiranti, the journey from a shy young girl in Detroit dreaming of California and movie stardom, to becoming an active and recognizable part of the Sun City creative community has been one of growth, resilience, and rediscovering her voice.

“I remember saying I wanted to move to California, become a movie star, and marry Elvis,” Kimberly says with a laugh. “I was shy, but I always felt like I had something inside me I wanted to share.”

That spark eventually led her into the worlds of pageantry, dance, fitness, theater, and entertainment. All passions that have continued to grow throughout her life and are now flourishing once again within the Sun City community.

Before settling in Sun City, Kimberly spent years immersed in creative and fitness-centered pursuits across Southern California. She owned a dance studio, taught freestyle dance, became a certified in yoga instructor, and created her own “Fit After 50” program while living in Corona Hills. Her energetic personality and love for performing also carried her into numerous pageants and competitions, earning titles such as Miss Hacienda Heights, Miss Coors Light, Miss Michelob, Miss Hawaiian Tropic, and Miss Black Velvet.

For Kimberly, the pageant world was about confidence, connection, and finding a place where she felt seen. “Winning trophies, being in newspapers or magazines, accomplishing something you dreamed about… it made me feel special.” She says with fond reflection.

Alongside her creative pursuits, Kimberly also dedicated much of her life to helping others. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for nearly 18 years and served 11 years as a hospice volunteer at Corona Regional Medical Center, experiences that reflect the caring and compassionate side of her personality that many friends in Sun City know well.

After retiring from her longtime role as an office sales manager for a construction company, Kimberly made the move to Sun City and quickly immersed herself in community life. Today, she remains actively involved in numerous clubs and activities, including the Performing Arts Club, Italian Heritage Club, Boomers and Friends, Solos Club, and Solos Putters.

One of the defining turning points in her Sun City journey came shortly after arriving, when she joined the Performing Arts Club production of Who Shot Manny Bloomberg? in March 2024. “At first, I stayed in the background because I was nervous,” Kimberly admitted. “But once I got on stage, something came back to life in me. I started feeling like I had my mojo back.”

What began as hesitation gradually transformed into renewed confidence and joy. Fellow cast members noticed her growing comfort on stage and encouraged her natural charisma and expressive personality. “That play really broke the ice for me,” she says. “I realized I still wanted to perform, still wanted to be involved, and still had something to give.”

That renewed confidence eventually opened doors into local film and television projects, She makes appearances in the locally produced The Mark and Tony Show (airs on FOX 11, Thursdays at 1pm), the award-winning short film A Long Way Back, and the upcoming feature Hearts in the Fairway. She was also involved with local productions Hopalong Stugots, Fox and Fiore, and many other productions.

For The Mark and Tony Show she helps coordinate audience interaction, supports production, and welcomes performers. Whether she is holding the applause sign, assisting backstage, or greeting guests, Kimberly says she genuinely loves being part of the energy and teamwork. “There’s a sense of being part of something,” she says. “We all help make the show happen.”

In A Long Way Back, a film that has earned 23 awards globally, including major film festival honors in New York and Los Angeles, Kimberly portrayed the character Julie Grace, a social worker.

Kimberly’s enthusiasm for entertainment continues well beyond the stage and camera. She is also known among friends for her love of karaoke, both at Sun City events and throughout the community. “I may still be shy in some ways,” she laughs, “but you hand me a microphone and put a song on, and I’m going to rock it.”

For Kimberly, performing has become a lifelong outlet for expression, connection, and personal growth. “Life’s too short,” she reflected. “Every day, do your best, be positive, and give it what you’ve got while you’re here.”

Today, Kimberly continues embracing new experiences, reconnecting with old passions, and inspiring others simply by showing that it is never too late to rediscover confidence, creativity, and joy.
