Over the years, the Sun City Shadow Hills Performing Arts Club has become a leading theatrical voice in the Coachella Valley. With pride and passion, they continue to present beloved Broadway and Hollywood stage productions performed by our own exceptionally talented resident actors. What could be more delightful than experiencing the thrill of live theater without the cost of a hotel stay and round-trip airfare to New York? That’s right—world-class entertainment is waiting right here at home.

Linda Bostjanick, current President of the Performing Arts Club, recently remarked, “We are thrilled to continually showcase top plays authored by the best Broadway and Hollywood writers. And we joyfully welcome Sun City Shadow Hills residents to become new members of our club. We always have openings, from actors to ushers, plus many positions on stage, backstage, costumes, makeup, hair, lighting, sound and more. Come on down! Your star is awaiting you!”

The beauty of this club lies in its welcoming spirit. Members range from those who say, “I’ve never acted, but always wanted to,” to “I once acted in a school play.” There are spouses who lovingly insist, “You’d be wonderful on stage!” and others who wonder with a smile, “Am I just a wee bit too old to play a Diva?” Some joke that their memory is “like a retired tennis racquet—full of holes,” and happily volunteer to usher. Others declare they may not sing or dance, but they certainly know how to give orders from directing or stage management.

Then there are those who quietly admit, “I did some acting years ago, before marriage and family. Maybe it’s time to dust off that dream.”

Yes, the truth is out. Being a member of the Sun City Shadow Hills Performing Arts Club means opportunity. Opportunity to perform. Opportunity to create. Opportunity to collaborate. Opportunity to support the arts in a vibrant, active, and welcoming community.

For audiences, the reward is unforgettable. There is nothing quite like the electricity of live performance, the collective gasp when the plot twists, the silence that fills the room when suspense hangs thick in the air, the thunder of applause that celebrates a job beautifully done.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you better move fast as this production is certain to sell out! Tickets may be purchased online at scshca.com/tickets

This March, let the suspense unfold. Let the phone ring. Let the mystery begin.

We’ll see you at the theater!
