Dear Readers,
As we dive into the hot summer months we celebrate you and all the Residents who call Rancho Mirage and the Valley home year-round. This month’s edition captures the community spirit of Rancho Mirage starting off with Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage’s July festivities leading up to a Fourth of July Spectacular! The family-friendly finale starts at 5pm with the Fireworks show to follow at 9pm; more details on page 9. If you are hosting your own Fourth of July celebration, be sure to check out the delicious recipe for Patriotic Taco Dip on page 39!
Our cover story features Mayor Townsend, who expressed his admiration for the City of Rancho Mirage and all those who envisioned, built and contributed to the unique culture of this City. As the highly anticipated Disney “Storyliving” Cotino project is progressing, Townsend took time to reflect on his 20+ year career with the LA Times and his journey to being involved with the City.
The Taste of Summer launches once again on July 11th. This dynamic event keeps our cherished restaurants open and thriving during the summer while benefiting local non-profits, all while serving an incredible palate for residents and visitors alike. For more details see page 35. For more fun summer events check out the Calendar of Events listed on page 22.
Regards and happy reading!
