The Annual Rancho Mirage Artists Exhibition features local artists. Original paintings, photography and sculpture by local Rancho Mirage artists are again on virtual public display at the city’s annual Artists Exhibition this year between March 26 and May 27, 2022. Sponsored by the Rancho Mirage Cultural Commission, the work of 41 local artists can be experienced in both two and three dimensions at the City of Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory’s website: www.ranchomiragelibrary.org/artists
On Friday evening, March 25th, the City of Rancho Mirage and the Cultural Commission hosted a reception honoring the artists, including 28 individuals selected for a one-day live Pop-up Exhibition at the library the following day. Again this year, 6 students from Rancho Mirage High School were included in the exhibition. Photographer Fran Lemothe’s Indian Canyon #1 was selected for the cover
of the invitation.
For the past nine years the City of Rancho Mirage Cultural Commission has sponsored this exhibition. Linda Maxson from Maxson’s Art Studio and Gallery served as this year’s Volunteer Art Consultant, bringing a level of professional experience and expertise to the event.
Rancho Mirage Artist Mike Grace was honored to have two acrylic portraits included in the exhibition, The Birthday Party and Steve & Ray. He describes himself as a “painter, photographer, author, educator and recovering lawyer.” His last pre-Covid one-man exhibition in Palm Springs was entitled Facing Friends: Portraits in Paint.
He has just written and illustrated a book about healthcare communication entitled The Mumbo Jumbo Fix: A Survival Guide for Effective Doctor-Patient-Nurse Communication published by Universal Publishers.
