“Unique Support and Advocacy for Local Children in Foster Care”

Voices for Children (VFC) is the only nonprofit organization in the Coachella Valley that trains and supports community members to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASAs are volunteers who advocate for the needs and well-being of children in foster care. In Riverside County there are over 4,000 children involved in the foster care system each year, 100 of whom are awaiting a CASA of their own. CASAs work one-on-one with a child or sibling set and use information that they gather, along with firsthand observations, to advocate for the children’s best interests in court and the community.

In recognition of those who help youth in foster care, in 1988 President Reagan issued the first Presidential proclamation that established May as National Foster Care Month. During the month of May, VFC celebrates its CASA volunteers who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and engages the community to ensure a bright future for these children. You can celebrate National Foster Care Month by supporting VFC’s mission. Learn about becoming a CASA volunteer. No experience is necessary and VFC provides all the training you’ll need, as well as a dedicated staff supervisor to partner with you on the case. Can’t volunteer? Follow VFC on social media. Invite VFC to speak to your business or social group. Make a tax-deductible gift.

VFC cannot do the work that it does without caring people like you! To learn more, please visit www.speakupnow.org or call (951) 472-9301, thank you for your support!
