The Waring International Piano Competition Launches Its New DBA Name: The Palm Springs International Piano Competition with Live Concert at CVREP on August 4, 2022.

2022 second place Concerto winner: Christopher Richardson performs an in-person piano program of Liszt and Beethoven on Thursday, August 4 at 7 PM. Tickets are only $35 per person. The program will also include a rendition of music from the 1939 “Wizard of Oz” film and Can’t Help Falling in Love. 23-year-old Richardson has just returned from playing concerts in Budapest and Zebegeny, Hungary after winning the 2021 Los Angeles International Lizst Competition. California-born Richardson is a three-time Waring Competition prize winner. He won as a junior contestant at the age of 11, again as an intermediate contestant at the age of 15, and now he is a senior prize winner. This local music non-profit, headquartered in Palm Desert, has collaborated with CVREP every summer since 2013. The Competition was born on the Campus of the College of the Desert in 1978 and incorporated as a
non-profit in 1983.

This performance will be a great way to introduce people to classical music.
Liszt is very accessible for non-classical music experts. This performance is part of CVREP’s Theatre Thursdays Live On Stage and hosts an intimate 200 seats.
