Rebranded & Rejuvinated: A City Signature Event Gets a New Vibe

Each November the City’s Parks and Trails Commission brings one the City’s biggest signature events to Rancho Mirage Community Park and Amphitheater. Rancho Mirage Art Affaire has kicked off the art festival season in the Coachella Valley for the last 19 years.

To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Rancho Mirage Art Affaire has been rebranded and redesigned to mirror the City’s transition and growth. On November 5 and 6, 2022, the Rancho Mirage Festival of the Arts will bring fresh and unique experiences to this traditional event. The vibe of this Festival will create a true outdoor art exhibition, encircled by the trees and desert landscaping of Rancho Mirage Community Park.

Since operations were suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the organizers of the Rancho Mirage Festival of the Arts and curator Bill Schinsky, in conjunction with the City’s marketing and events department and the Parks and Trails Commission, put the time to good use, incorporating feedback from previous participants and rethinking goals. The past two years have been an opportunity to sharpen priorities and reflect on what matters.

As stated in the City’s mission statement, we have a “commitment to support, engage in, and promote cultural, historical, educational, and charitable events,” which residents appreciate for the quality of life. Along with the Rancho Mirage Speaker Series, Desert Theatricals’ Broadway shows, and the Writers Festival, called “a landmark institution of literate American culture,” the Festival of the Arts is a signature expression of the city’s quality and style.

The Festival is the City’s way of showing support to a wide variety of artists. From its roots as an art and jazz festival, the event has grown to become one of Rancho Mirage’s biggest and most-loved community gatherings.

Speaking of jazz, on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., as part of this grand experience, the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater will host the Rancho Mirage Festival of the Arts Jazz Under the Stars featuring Goodfellas Jazz Band and The Amanda Castro Band. All are welcome to enjoy this free evening of jazz
under the stars.
