With the Medicare Open Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) just days away, there are changes this year that you need to be aware of. New legislation was recently signed with the intention to reduce the high cost of some medications for seniors on Medicare. Although some of the changes will take effect in 2023, others won’t be seen for years. It’s important that Medicare beneficiaries review their benefits annually to see if a change of plans may be necessary. Drugs may be added or removed from formularies so it’s important that you review your current prescriptions so you know exactly how you will be impacted by those changes. No one likes surprises at the pharmacy.

No doubt you have seen your home and auto insurance premiums skyrocket in recent months. We are in what’s commonly termed as a ‘hard market.’ These market cycles are challenging and they come and go every handful of years. The change in the insurance marketplace currently is being driven by excessive losses due to wild fires and water damage, as well as inflation that has caused both repairs to cars and homes to reach outrageous levels. It’s become more important than ever that consumers shop their insurance coverage to make certain they’re getting the best coverage for their premium. The difference between insurers can be significant. We recommend that you have larger deductibles to help reduce your cost and to discourage you from filing smaller claims. Whether you choose our firm or not, we are here to help. Feel free to call with your questions.
