Desert Theatricals, in partnership with the City of Rancho Mirage, is back for another amazing season Of Broadway Under the Stars at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater!

The 2023 Broadway Musical Series opens with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific on February 17 — 19, featuring actors with Broadway, regional and local credits in principal roles including Joe Savant of Cathedral City as Emile, Lizzie Schmelling of Twenty-Nine Palms as Nellie, Catrina Teruel of Nashville as Bloody Mary, Christian Fonte of Lake Havasu as Cable, and Gilmore Rizzo as Billis and Don Savage as Brackett, both from Palm Desert.

Enjoy song favorites including Some Enchanted Evening, Cockeyed Optimist, Nothing Like A Dame, Honey Bun, Younger than Springtime and more!

Then, on March 17 — 19, step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has been produced in 37 countries worldwide. Based on the Academy award- winning animated feature, the stage version includes all the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Join Emily Unnasch as Belle, Joe Savant as Beast, James Hormel as Gaston, Beverly Crain as Mrs. Potts, Kellen Green as Lumiere and Thomas Warrick as Cogs worth in Desert Theatricals’ production of this truly enchanting love story.

Closing out the 2023 season on April 14 — 16 will be nothing short of amazing with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat Of many colors.

The cast, including Jayde Mitchell as Joseph, Kelly McDaniel as Narrator, and Manny Dela Rosa aka Manny The Movie Guy as Napthali, will bring this colorful production to life on the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater stage. Casting for all performances also includes local actors from the Coachella Valley and the Greater Inland Empire and features 20 students from Desert Theatricals Youth Theatre Program.

With over 450 Broadway-style professional musicals and events between them, the team of Ray Limon and Joshua Carr have been producing quality, affordable theatre in Southern California for 29 years.

The extraordinary partnership with the City Of Rancho Mirage has created a collaboration that continues to grow. Tickets are on sale now, with an option to purchase general admission tickets or dinner theatre tables of 4 or 6 people with full three-course dinner service.
