The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert (CDMoD) is a valuable community resource for children and families, where they can experience the joy of learning hands-on as a family in their own community! However, the effects of restrictions during the pandemic coupled with long closures and lack of funding mean they are struggling to keep their doors open.
Fortunately the residents of Rancho Mirage have stepped up to help. This past February the owners of Willie’s Modern Fare, Willie Rhine and Chad Gardner, hosted a well-attended Sneak Peek Fundraising event with all the proceeds benefitting the shuttered and much-loved museum. “Willie, Chad and team are so very generous to select the museum to be the beneficiary of the Sneak Peek event,” declared Cindy Burreson, CEO of the CDMoD.
“CDMoD plays an important role in the community, with plans to offer informal learning activities to inspire creativity and encourage families to interact in unique ways with 40 new exhibits. We take our three decades of rich history seriously and are excited to reopen with experiences that are designed for a broader audience and are reflective of our modern world.”
The Children’s Discovery Museum appreciates members of the Rancho Mirage community like Willie and Chad who are answering the call to give back and support our very own Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert (CDMoD).
